Sammi Rogers
Music Educator, Grandview Elementary
Sammi Rogers is a music educator and percussionist based out of the Austin area. She has been extensively involved in the pageantry arts throughout her lifetime, competing in circuits such as Drum Corps International (DCI) and Winter Guard International (WGI) for over seven years. Her performance experience in the pageantry arts includes the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, Violet Crown Independent, Monarch Independent, and Music City Mystique, all spent playing marimba in the front ensemble.
Other previous percussion performance experience includes the Texas State Bobcat Marching Band; the Texas State University Symphonic Winds, where she also served as the principal percussionist; and the Texas State Symphony Orchestra, where she was involved in their performance accompanying TMEA All-State Mixed Choir. During the 2020-2021 school year, she also won the Texas State Concerto Competition, where she had the opportunity to perform solo with the orchestra.
She currently teaches elementary music in Leander ISD, as well as the front ensemble at Glenn High School in both the fall and spring semester. She holds a B.M. in Music Studies from Texas State University, with an emphasis in instrumental education. In her free time, Sammi loves to arrange, roller skate, play video games, and hang out with her pet cat named Mochi.
